Wedding 101 Tennessee Style Shoot on STYLE ME PRETTY

We had an incredible time with Wedding 101 in Franklin, TN making a masterpiece out of this style shoot.   This inspiration shoot was fully vintage and decorated by Southern Events Party Rentals and Vintage Prop Shoppe and our model is a dear friend from the Wedding 101 crew. They have been married for 9 years, but were as romantic as newly weds.  ;) Those amazing Jack Daniel's Whiskey Cakes and incredible biscuit bar were by far my favorite part of the shoot!  CLICK HERE on Style Me Pretty's Little Black Book!

From Southern Events Party Rentals + Vintage Prop Shop … The Jack Daniels distillery is precious to us here in Middle Tennessee – it’s amazing to think that every bottle of Jack Daniels Whiskey has been made with the clear spring water from the cave that sits on the distillery land. We designed this “Old Whiskey South” wedding with a traditional southern wedding in mind, and our Jack Daniels Whiskey edge thrown in.

Our shoot was a vow renewal of sorts for our bride and groom – they were married nine years ago this month! Tiffany and David were ecstatic to pledge their love to one another again, and they kindly let us capture the occasion for them as well. Tiffany wore a classic “cupcake” gown that had a modern edge to it – it’s a two piece! The bottom half came off when it was time to put on her sparkly dancing shoes. David wore a traditional tuxedo – tails, bowtie and all.

The McConnell House is an old Tennessee home that actually started out as an old jail. The iron bars and doors add a gritty look to the home. With handmade monogrammed handkerchiefs and linens, the Southern Wedding aesthetic is boldly apparent in this shoot. Classic flowers like white roses and hydrangeas were placed in antique silver tea pots, milk glass vases, and mercury glass vessels. We collected vintage and antique silver forks, and then curled the tines to hold place cards for guests. Food for the event included a Southern Biscuit and Cornbread Bar – with a large assortment of different spreads and toppings to customize your own biscuit. Signature whiskey cocktails served in mint julep cups add a whiskey twist to the classic drink. A dessert bar was set up complete with molasses cookies, customized truffles, a traditional wedding cake, and Jack Daniels Chocolate Cupcakes. Flickering candlelight, iron lanterns, and whiskey barrels used as cocktail tables added the finishing touches to the event.

Graham and Libby are in Love...and so a great romance is born. Libby and Graham set out in sharing vows in an Historically renovated house church; Trotted (literally) down Nashville's Music Row in a horse drawn carriage with a steed named Maximillion announcing the nuptials with every paced clickity-clack; Gathered all the family in one of Music City's  finest brick born Live Music Venues, The Rutledge; And showing that Love can cover an entire city as easily as it does two hearts.

Blessings to Graham and Libby, our dear, now happily married, friends!

Hermosa boda! This wedding brought together a quiet golf course, an off-the road resort and a bride and groom who added some romantic fire to already toasty day in the desert. A slapdash of midnight and greens, the Nieto's added some zest to a stubborn climate climate of red and sand. From the moment they shared their first look in a secluded alley way lining the rolling fairways, to the moment the DJ announced them husband and wife with a traditional Mexico City futbol announcer's brogue, this couple lit up the desert with a charm that won't soon be forgotten. This shoot featured lens play with skipping light through palm trees and a timeless cat and mouse between bride and and windswept Lilly-wheat. Congratulations Stephen and Salena Nieto!

There are times when the word "vintage" is so loosely used to describe an event, that it ceases to capture its cardinal meaning. Mack and Veronica put their backs to the ocean and and their hearts before all in a romantic endeavor that was as much a slapdash of soft pinks and mint green as it was a moxy saunter through another time. This wedding had the sort of imagery that fills a little girl's heart and eyes as they dream of their wedding day far off in the distance. Vintage vendors placed one of a kind personalities on every single place setting leaving no two alike. Veronica had a dress daring that "enchanting foreign lace" be its decided-upon origin. Wafting the afternoon breeze you found endless streams of homemade varietal pie tagging along, and circling above and  below were the sights and sounds of floor-stomping Arabic music that testified loud and proud that these two already huge families just became that much larger. Congratulations Mack and Veronica!

Anthony and Nikki gifted all in attendance of their special day by fashioning picturesque ocean-side and San Diego chic. The crashing waves and seascape for all its grandeur played but a backdrop to this wedding, which wasted no time setting the tone for a swank, serene and playfully sexy sojourn into what happens when you mingle newlyweds and nuance. This shoot captured a wonderful balance of bright and sleek glimpses into two worlds; Halcyon piers, tantalizing fudge-plates, bronze-hearted shoes, subtle pinstripes and fish tacos all woven together like the burlap-strung mason jars that dotted the venue. The James are a beautiful couple and I believe they will do, for many, many years, what their special day managed to accomplish: Blend two unique worlds and hearts in joyful harmony.

Location: Wikiup Ranch, Santa Rosa, Ca John and Charity spent a week amongst family and friends in what can only be described as a historically, romantic tryst among trysts. Wikiup Ranch is a half Villa half barn and altogether seeped in antiquity, having now been converted into a modern day estate, complete with hardwood floors and horse stables. Around quiet corners you find dilapidated wratchets and perfectly neglected hallways. Further still you'd stumble across bouquets in Boots, making this shoot as whimsical as it was Western. a chivalrously tipped Navy cap and some shoulder-mounted dance moves were only matched the resplendent wildflowers and homemade pies.

Throughout the day John and Charity were full of Joy and excited to ring in their new life together beneath the stars and affectionately strung lights. Congratulations to a beautiful couple who will, without doubt, Love one another with all their hearts.
